Biography

Dillon - Billy Boyd Carter, 75, died in the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, April 30, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Oakland United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.

Mr. Carter was born May 3, 1936 in Dillon County, the son of the late Thomas Allen and Mary Perritt Carter. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. For over twenty years he worked as a Truck Driver with the City of Dillon.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Johnson Carter; his son, Andy (Christy) Carter of High Point, NC; his daughter, Genna (Kevin) Crick of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren; a brother, Marion Ray (Geraldine) Carter of Dillon, SC; and a sister, Doris (Billy) Wiggins of Dillon, SC.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Oliver Lewis Carter, Roy Franklin Carter, Allen Carter, Jr., and a sister, Lillian Carter.
