Pawley's Island - Ethel McLaurin Rogers, 94, died September 13, 2011 at Lakes at Litchfield, Pawley's Island, SC. Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. graveside in Greenlawn Cemetery in Dillon, SC, Friday, September 16, 2011. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service in Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon, SC.
Mrs. Rogers was born September 23, 1916, in Dillon SC, the daughter of the late Ethel Ragsdale and Jack McLaurin. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Daniel Townsend Rogers.
She is survived by her two sons; Daniel T. (Jeannine) Rogers, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Duncan M. (Susan) Rogers of Pawley's Island, SC; her daughter, Louise (Ray) Mechling of Virginia Beach, VA; nine grandchildren, Lori (Christopher) Cavin, Ray (Jennifer) Mechling, Jr., Wendy (Tim) DeBlock, Paige (Tyler) Jackson, Julianne (Chris) McRoy, Jonathan (Anna) Mechling, Benjamin Mechling, Laurin Rogers and Jack Rogers; eleven great gandchildren, and two sisters-in-law Virginia McLaurin and Ruth Rogers.
Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn Duncan McLaurin and Jack H. McLaurin, a sister Sara McLaurin Milford and infant sister Inez McLaurin.
